Meet The Founders
Dyani Peterson - President, Founder
Dyani Peterson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and an Associate of Arts degree from Eastern Florida State College, where she was honored as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and named to the 2020 All-Academic Team. As the first in her family to graduate from college, Dyani is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Data Science at Meharry Medical College. Her personal and academic achievements have fueled her dedication to advocacy and social justice, driving her to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Throughout her life, Dyani has been recognized for her commitment to change, including being named a Space Coast Hero by Sheriff Wayne Ivy and receiving a Proclamation for Arthrogryposis Awareness Day from the City of Melbourne. Dyani’s passion for advocacy stems from her own lived experience with Arthrogryposis, which has shaped her determination to break down societal barriers and create opportunities for others. From an early age, she learned the importance of perseverance and the power of support systems, guided by her grandmother’s words, “You can do anything you put your mind to.”
Guided by a deep sense of social justice, Dyani has dedicated her career to reshaping the narrative surrounding disability. She strives to create a world where every individual’s voice is heard, respected, and empowered. As the founder and president of Empowering Every Voice, Dyani continues to lead with passion, vision, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Dyani’s leadership extends beyond personal advocacy; she is committed to creating systemic change that fosters long-term empowerment for individuals with disabilities. By advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and the removal of societal barriers, Dyani has worked with local communities, organizations, and policymakers to ensure that people with disabilities receive the support and opportunities they deserve. Her vision for Empowering Every Voice INC. is one where every person, regardless of their ability, is provided with the tools and support they need to succeed, live independently, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Madison VanBuskirk - Vice President
Madison VanBuskirk is a dedicated advocate and aspiring fashion designer with a strong focus on creating adaptive clothing solutions for adults with special needs. As an individual living with cerebral palsy, Madison has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. This firsthand experience has inspired her to combine her creative talents with her advocacy efforts to make a positive impact in the fashion industry.
Madison holds an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from Eastern Florida State College. Her academic journey has been a testament to her resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth. With a vision to revolutionize the fashion industry, Madison aspires to design inclusive clothing lines that emphasize comfort, accessibility, and style for individuals with disabilities. Her unique perspective, shaped by her lived experience, enables her to craft designs that address real-world needs while promoting dignity, self-expression, and confidence.
By joining Empowering Every Voice, Madison has expanded her advocacy efforts and furthered her commitment to creating meaningful change. She is a strong proponent of continuous learning, believing that staying informed is key to effecting lasting impact. As she aptly states, “There’s always new information coming out, and sometimes you don’t even realize that it’s out there.”
Madison is passionate about fostering a world where individuals with disabilities are not only seen and heard but also given equal opportunities to thrive. She is committed to challenging societal misconceptions about disability, proving that it is not a limitation but rather an opportunity to innovate and achieve success in new and creative ways.
